1938 HITS ARCHIVE: Thanks For The Memory - Shep Fields (Bob Goday, vocal)
Here are Shep Fields and His Rippling Rhythm Orchestra with "Thanks for the Memory," the Academy Award-winning song from the Paramount picture Big Broadcast of 1938.
Bobby Goday handles the vocal.
This song would be best remembered as the longtime radio and television theme song of Bob Hope---who appeared in the movie and sang the Leo Robin-Ralph Rainger-penned song along with his co-star Shirley Ross.
Shep and the boys were in the movie too, which also starred W.C. Fields.
Recorded in New York City on November 29, 1937 and released on Bluebird #B-7318.
