Fats Domino - Ain't It A Shame(master, version 1) - March 15, 1955



Here's Fats Domino's classic original recording of "Ain't It A Shame," which he co-written with Dave Bartholomew.

Recorded in Hollywood, California on March 15, 1955.

The song reached Billboard's rhythm and blues charts, ultimately spending eleven weeks at #1.

It reached as high as #10 on the pop charts, more than holding its' own against Pat Boone's cover version.

Fats Domino - Goin' Home (version 1) - January 1952



Here's Fats Domino with "Goin' Home," a song that he co-wrote with producer Al Young.

Recorded in New Orleans in January of 1952 and released two months later on Imperial #5180.

It reached #1 on Billboard Magazine's rhythm and blues chart for one week and even managed to reach #30 on the pop chart.

Fats Domino - The Fat Man (version 1) - December 10, 1949



In honor and memory of Antione "Fats" Domino, who passed away on Tuesday at age 89, here's his first hit, "The Fat Man," which he and bandleader and collaborator Dave Bartholomew composed.

Recorded in New Orleans on December 10, 1949 and released on Imperial #5058 in February of 1950.

It reached as high as number two on Billboard magazine's rhythm and blues charts.

It was Fats' first million-seller.
