Perry's last 15 minute show (6/24/55)

Here's a kinescope of the final CBS Network telecast of The Perry Como Show, with commercials for Chesterfield Cigarettes.


For five years, Perry was seen three nights a week at 7:45 PM Eastern Time on CBS (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday).


Mr. C moved over to NBC and a big-budgeted hour-long Saturday night variety show.


CBS was set to eliminate its' 7:30-8:00 PM weeknight news and variety half-hours that fall in favor of mostly KidVid programming, this in the wake of the huge success ABC had with Disneyland.


Doug Edwards' newscast was moved to an earlier evening time slot.
