Fats Domino - The Fat Man (version 1) - December 10, 1949
In honor and memory of Antione "Fats" Domino, who passed away on Tuesday at age 89, here's his first hit, "The Fat Man," which he and bandleader and collaborator Dave Bartholomew composed.
Recorded in New Orleans on December 10, 1949 and released on Imperial #5058 in February of 1950.
It reached as high as number two on Billboard magazine's rhythm and blues charts.
It was Fats' first million-seller.
