Perry's last 15 minute show (6/24/55)

Here's a kinescope of the final CBS Network telecast of The Perry Como Show, with commercials for Chesterfield Cigarettes.


For five years, Perry was seen three nights a week at 7:45 PM Eastern Time on CBS (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday).


Mr. C moved over to NBC and a big-budgeted hour-long Saturday night variety show.


CBS was set to eliminate its' 7:30-8:00 PM weeknight news and variety half-hours that fall in favor of mostly KidVid programming, this in the wake of the huge success ABC had with Disneyland.


Doug Edwards' newscast was moved to an earlier evening time slot.

The Dinah Shore Chevy Show April 1956

Here's the kinescope of the April 10, 1956 NBC Network telecast of The Dinah Shore Chevy Show.  Dean Martin (without his soon-to-be ex-comedy partner Jerry Lewis) is Dinah's special guest.

Complete with commercials for the 1956 Chevrolet.

Dinah still had her twice-weekly NBC 15-minute early-evening show at the time.  She alternated as host of The Chevy Show with Bob Hope.  This series shared the Tuesday night at 8:00 PM time slot with The Martha Raye Show and the once-mighty Milton Berle Show.

Harry Owens Show- 1958- Hawaiian Music- 1 hour long

Time for not one, but TWO 1958 CBS Network episodes of Harry Owens and His Royal Hawaiians, featuring Hilo Hattie.

Harry's best known such great Hawaiian tunes, such as his theme song, "Sweet Lelani."

Harry's show was probably seen only on the West Coast.
