Carl Perkins - Movie Magg

Time for early Rockabilly as Carl Perkins sings his self-penned "Movie Magg."

Released in early 1955 on Flip #501.

This Flip Records was a short-lived subsidiary of Sam Phillips' Sun Records.

Sam had to shutter the label during 1955 after receiving a cease-and-desist letter from the owners of a same-named Los Angeles-based Rhythm and Blues label (best remember for The Six Teens' 1956 hit, a casual look).

Rosco Gordon Love For You Baby FLIP 237

Time for Rosco Gordon as he sings his self-pened "Love For You Baby."

This 1954-55 recording was released on Flip #237.

This was the short-lived Sam Phillips-owned Memphis-based label that was soon shuttered after Sam received a complaint from the Los Angeles-based label of the same name.
